Sundown Supper

AHOY THERE ME HEARTIES FOR THE SALTY SEADOG SUNDOWN SUPPER!

The team behind a series of unusual dinners is at it again. This time, for the benefit of the RNLI, a fabulous fine dining event will be staged on The Salty – a spit of sand exposed only at low water on the backbeach area at Teignmouth in South Devon!

Diners are being treated to a sumptuous 4 course meal prepared by chef Emily Pitcher of Devon Home Cook and the dress code will be Blacktie and barefoot with a butler on hand to oversee every aspect of this luxurious occasion. The idea was taken from Jack Vettriano paintings of elegant people dining and dancing on the beach.

additional notes:

Getting the timings right in respect of the tides has been a real challenge but Sandie Clark of OPEN for Dinner says “we’re delighted to have received so much help from Commander David Vaughan, the harbour master, in making this possible. He has been very supportive throughout and has approved our plans for keeping the dinner to time which include a lookout and a very big bell!.”

“Its fortunate that the RNLI is also set to benefit as they have kindly agreed to be on standby for the 2 dates – 17th July and 14th August - and we thank them hugely.”

The response to the dinner has been amazing and with many of the ingredients coming from local sources it’s a great way of showcasing the lovely town of Teignmouth.
